My guinea pig’s partner has died and is now on his/her own. I don’t know what to do?

It is unkind to leave a guinea pig to live in isolation and so it is important to think about what is best for the welfare of the remaining guinea pig. Even if your existing piggie is elderly it is still possible to find them a companion/friend as rescues have piggies of all ages looking for homes. Help and support is available from Little Brambles and it would be advisable to speak with them first, look at your different options and then decide what is best all round. Your course of action will depend upon whether you want to take on an additional guinea pig, rehome your one remaining guinea pig, whether you have indoor facilities and whether you have a boar or a sow left. The welfare of your remaining guinea pig should be your priority.
